For nearly 46 years, Corio Design owner Bill Corio has been working exclusively with 3M products. He started his business carrying 3M products and has never looked back.

“3M is the most reliable manufacturer. They offer the best product, the best support and the best reputation,” he said. “I have developed a relationship with them and have had access to their engineers when I have questions or concerns… Other manufacturers are just not as responsive.”

His business first started in 1975. He remembers cutting film by hand to install on vehicles. “I was always a car and boat fanatic,” Corio said of his early days.

By the 1980s, Corio began working with computer-generated graphics that would cut on a plotter. His business expanded from vehicles to include airplanes, boats and signage. In 1995, Corio became one of the first 3M֭™ Scotchprint® authorized manufacturers and began to print on vinyl. Since then, he has designed, manufactured and installed graphics for major brands, including NASA and Disney, Sea World, Universal Studios, transportation companies and more.

Corio has been working with 3M™ DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes for years. He remembers when DI-NOC first released and was installed on station wagons. “Everyone was afraid to work with it back then because no one knew how,” he said. He now regularly installs DI-NOC for commercial customers, including healthcare, government, retail and more.

While his business first started in New Jersey, he moved his family to Central Florida in 1991 to escape a recession. In Orlando, he found sunshine and a better business climate. This is where he raised his two sons and daughter. All of his children have stayed in the film business and Corio said he hopes his grandchildren will continue the legacy.

“It has been a lot of fun,” he said of his career. “It’s not boring. No day is the same. It’s been nearly 46 years and I learn something new every day. There is something special about the moment you see the finished project; it’s a great feeling to have pride in your work.”
