THE PROBLEM: The Virginia Governor’s mansion, built in 1813, is the oldest continuously occupied executive mansion in the nation. As project managers neared the completion of a six-month, $7.5 million renovation of the house, they pondered how best to protect its valuable furnishings from the sun, and supplement the home’s existing security system.
THE SOLUTION: 3M Safety & Security Series Ultra film was installed, and mansion visitors are none-the-wiser. Without changing the appearance of the building, the film protects against the sun, as well as potential break-ins. The renovation project manager was so happy with the results, he had the film installed on the windows at the mansion’s security station, as well.
