Dealer Spotlight: Tampa Bay’s Stunzeed Auto Styles Draws Attention
(This article first appeared in the May 2019 issue of “Dealer E-News.”) Shaun Hendryx and Chris Persechino knew while laying the designs for their new location of Stunzeed Auto Stylez in the Tampa Bay area that they wanted to be able to take photographs of finished projects to incorporate into their marketing strategy.
They also knew that there was a growing trend of artistic murals in the St. Petersburg area. In fact, less than six miles away from the company’s front door, St. Petersburg’s downtown had been attracting a growing number of visitors to site-see the large murals.
So, Stunzeed Auto Stylez partnered with Lakeland artist James Hicks of Vendetta Studio. Hicks transformed a blank canvas on the outside of Stunzeed Auto Stylez’s shop into a colorful masterpiece – which has provided the perfect backdrop for photographs of completed projects. Shaun said that he also hopes the wall will attract visitors to see the artwork and take notice of his and Chris’ growing business and services.
The two started Stunzeed Auto Stylez two years ago after working together for five years in a automotive dealership. They had dreamed about opening their own business and took a leap of faith.
“I haven’t had a day off in two years,” Shaun said. “I’m working 16-hour days, seven days a week, but when you love what you do and surround yourself with a great team, it doesn’t really feel like work.”
The two started their shop out of an 800-square-foot facility and quickly outgrew it. They recently moved into the much larger space, which includes a shop for detailing and a separate space for auto tint and wraps. In fact, their auto detail company has successfully grown to offer a number of services, including custom vinyl wraps, paint protection film, detailing, and Ceramic Pro for autos and boats. Just recently, Stunzeed became a 3M™ Authorized Dealer and added 3M™ Crystalline Window Film to its line.
“If you want to offer the best, which is Crystalline, then you have to offer 3M,” Shaun said. “Not to mention that Accent has a stellar reputation in the community. Plus, 3M is known worldwide. It’s branding offers good credibility.”
Shaun understands how leveraging a national brand can make a difference. Early on, he and Chris started their company working with Ceramic Pro. Their company is known under two names – Stunzeed Auto Stylez and Ceramic Pro Tampa Bay. He said that Ceramic Pro’s name recognition has helped him get through the first year of business. His company has now grown to include eight employees, including a professional tint installer.
Shaun said they are looking forward to the future and growing their business. For now, the mural is playing its part by drawing attention to their services. Photos have been posted on their social media sites and website and incorporated into their YouTube videos. Shaun said he also will use his large format printer to print photos for some of his higher-end clients. Check out their latest video that showcases their new shop and the mural.
