27 Aug Dealer Spotlight: Atomic Car Audio Draws Attention to 3M™ Window Film
(This article originally appeared in the January 2019 issue of “Dealer E-News.”) Darren Luna said that adding 3M products to Atomic Car Audio’s offerings two years ago was one of the best business decisions that he has made.
“People were calling to ask if I carried 3M Window Film before I started offering it,” he said. “It is the only brand of window film that people know by name.”
Luna’s shop, Atomic Car Audio, first opened its doors in 2012 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The company serves the entire eastern Tennessee and Knoxville area. With three employees, including a full-time professional tinter with more than 20 years of experience, Atomic Car Audio specializes in window film. His business also offers audio stereo installation, remote start systems and a variety of other electrical enhancements. His website and social media pages are decorated with photographs of high-end vehicles, including classic muscle cars and newer cars, pickup trucks and Jeeps.
He promotes that fact that he uses 3M Window Film on his social media platforms. “It makes it a lot easier to sell when you know that you can stand by it,” Luna said.
In fact, inside his shop, an entire wall is dedicated to 3M products. Luna backlight a 3M branded display to further bring attention to the company’s film product line. He said that having a wall in his shop dedicated to marketing 3M works very well. “It’s definitely drawing people’s eyes to the 3M product,” he said. “That’s what we want to sell.”
His favorite product is the 3M™ Automotive Window Film Color Stable Series. In March of 2018, his team put the Color Stable on a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro. He also has the product on his own vehicle, which he drove to Florida on vacation. “I was amazed at how well it works for a relatively small investment.”
